How to deal with lag
How to deal with lag
2020-11-25Hi!
Since I keep seeing people write "damn, such lag", "lag", "so much warping" and so on, I decided to write this guide. :]
In this guide I'll tell you what to do to neutralize lag.
First of all, what is lag?
Lag - a term often used for online games when the game loses sync with the player's controls, usually because of a slow internet connection, an underpowered server or a local computer overloaded with tasks.
There are 2 kinds of lag:
1. Host lag:
Host lag is caused by "DDoS" attacks that overload the server.
You can recognize this kind of lag when everyone has a high ping, usually shown in yellow or red. There is no cure for it - only the hosting provider can neutralize it.
2. Internet connection lag:
Most often caused by a weak internet connection, viruses or full virtual memory. If you use a router with a SIM card (mobile internet), don't be surprised that you have lag and a high ping - in that case only changing your internet provider will help. If you have wireless (radio) internet, lag may be caused by signal loss due to rain, snow, wind and so on.
If you have a good connection and lag still bothers you, do the following:
Download these programs
Game Booster Click to download - a tool for optimizing and speeding up your computer, made with gamers in mind. It lets you pick system settings that get the most performance out of your computer in games.
CCleaner Click to download - a free application for optimizing your system and removing unnecessary files left behind by various applications during everyday use.
Malwarebytes Click to download - an effective scanner that detects and removes all kinds of malware, including viruses, worms, trojans, rootkits, dialers and spyware.
Clean etmain utility Click to download - a simple program that removes unnecessary pk3 files.
It's also worth adding these commands to your cfg:
rate "25000"
snaps "20"
cl_timenudge "0"
cl_maxpackets "100"
cl_packetdup "1"
com_maxfps "125"
com_hunkmegs "512" //[if you don't have much RAM, set it to 128]
com_zoneMegs "128"
forcefps "125"
com_crashed "0"
If warping bothers you because your computer is weak, save the text below in Notepad as fps.cfg and put it in the etmain folder where the game is installed. To load it in the game type /exec fps.cfg (every time you start the game)

I think this helps a bit with the problem.
If you have any problems, please write.
Regards :]
